New Beginnings!

If there is one thing that the past 4 months has taught me, it is definitely that JUST when I think I have life planned out, God throws a curve ball in there and proves me wrong. I think it's His way of saying "Chill out Meghan, I AM IN CONTROL!" Four months ago, Will was working for my dad, I was still with my job at Express Employment... life was simple, normal, pretty uneventful. WELL, as I sit here today, everything has changed. Will was laid off and has since started working for Jackson Healthcare. As I've posted before, Jackson is an outstanding company to work for, and they are even rated one of the top companies to work for in Atlanta. Will loves his job so far and is doing great at it. Well, little did I know that this would also open a door for me. Within a quick week, I was also offered a position with a company under the Jackson Healthcare umbrella of families. It was something that completely fell into my lap, and the door was opened without much of a shove, but I could not be more thrilled. I will be doing physician recruiting for Jackson & Coker and I start on Monday!

The past two years at Express Employment have been great and I have learned so much. The team here is great, and I will miss them dearly.

New beginnings for Will and I! It's scary to be branching out at a time where the economy is so unstable, but doors have been opened and doors have been closed, and after many many prayers, we truly feel like we are meant to RUN through these doors. We couldn't be more excited!

Besides the company being outstanding, the building we are working in isn't too shabby either. It's gorgeous and is complete with a restaurant, work out room, arcade, and Starbucks. Really!? Here is the video of the opening of the new building:

So to answer the same questions that we are getting asked over and over:
Yes, Will and I will be working in the same building.
No, we will not drive to work together.
No, we will not see eachother at all during the day. Will works out during lunch, and I EAT! We are on two different floors and two different sides of the building.

Pray for us. This is a completely new venture for us. We are used to the smaller, family owned businesses, and Jackson is quite the opposite. We can use all of the prayers we can get :)

Love you all!

He got the job!

By far, the best phone call I have ever gotten... "Babe!? I got the job!!"

After about 3 (long and stressful) months of searching and searching and searching, Will finally accepted an offer with his dream company: Jackson Healthcare/ LocumTenens.com!  Will had interviewed with Jackson Healthcare back in April, and after months of waiting and empty offers with other companies, the job with Jackson finally came through.  Will has kept such a great attitude throughout everything.  It is no secret that he faced a terrible economy, and I could not be more proud of how he handled everything.  He was dedicated, patient, and knew that in God's time, the right job would come along for him.  It has definitely been one of the most challenging things we have been through as a couple, but it has made us stronger than ever.  We are so excited about the opportunity with such a wonderful company:

Tomorrow, Will flies to Houston for a week to see his family before starting his new job on July 6th.  He is excited to go back home and see his family, our friends, and TO FISH!  I, on the other hand, am going to miss him dearly and can't wait for him to come home.  What am I going to do for a whole week!?

As always, out of order, but you get the idea...

With some of the girls back at the cabin after a fun day on the lake!
Celebrating Will's new job and Collin's birthday on the lake!
Life doesn't get much better.

Congrats Will! Proud of you :)

30 Years and Still Madly in Love

This past weekend, my parents celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.  After being married for only a year and a half, I can more than appreciate the love, dedication, and work it takes to be married for 30 years and to still be as in love as my parents are.  I cannot even being to describe how much I look up to them and their marriage.  They are role models to Will and I!!!

We decided to celebrate by surprising my parents with a weekend in Blue Ridge.  Blue Ridge is about an hour north of our house in the gorgeous Georgia mountains, and it was where Will and I spent our first wedding anniversary, so it definitely holds a special place in our hearts.  My family always has a blast when we are all together, to say the least.  So the weekend away could not have been more fun or more memorable.  Here are some pictures...

of course, munchkin was there!  she loves Blue Ridge!
a candid... we caught them! i love that they are so in love!
Daddy with his girls.
my mom, my best friend, ugh i just love her more than words.
enjoying the stream below our cabin.
I love campfires.  They remind me of our camping trips when I was little.

behind again... shocker!

Well, if my lonely little night produced nothing else, it did force me into enough boredom to update this blog finally!!  I don't know how the weekends slip by and before I know it, it has been a month before I have even thought of this thing!  So while Will plays at his weekly basketball game... I will update you all on our lives :)

First and most fun!... Our cruise was amazing.  It was so nice to spend such quality time with Will.  During the rush rush of everyday life, it seems so hard to relax and really appreciate each other.  Life has proven to be stressful and anything but relaxing lately (for those of you that don't know, yes, Will is looking for another job), so a vacation was JUST what we needed.  Will and I were able to spend 3 days in Tampa before our cruise ship left the port, so we felt like we had a little vacation before our vacation!  Clearwater beach was wonderful, gorgeous, basically I didn't want to leave and it wouldn't take much convincing to make me go back! :) Because of the awful timing of the swine flu, we gladly skipped our stop in Cozumel and instead spent the entire cruise in Grand Cayman, which was fine with me!!!!  If you have never been there, Cayman is gorgeous and I would highly recommend a trip there!  The water is as clear as it gets and the beaches as beautiful as they come.  Overall- Caymen- amazing, Food- edible, Pinas- delish!, and my company (Will)- studly and amazing :)

The weekend after we got home from vacation was Brittany and Slate's wedding. Slate was the very first friend that Will made when he moved to Georgia (while I finished up school in Texas), so needless to say, both Brittany and Slate hold a very special place in our hearts.  They have introduced us to so many wonderful people and are truly one of the biggest blessings in our life.  Will and I have had so much fun celebrating their engagement the past couple of months, and the wedding was so great to witness.  Brittany was stunning (no surprise!) and we had an absolute blast with all of our Georgia friends!  We are excited to spend many many many more years making memories with Brittany and Slate.  Congratulations!  We love yall.

The remainder of the weekends have been spent... guess... with friends and family.  Fun get-togethers, Cinco's rooftop bar, Brave's games, and extra special date nights with my husband.  I love summer and everything about it.  There is nothing better than having a sunburn that hurts so good and drinking a margarita with my favorite people on a Friday night. I love it!

Because it has been so long and so much has been going on, here are only a couple of pictures from the past month.  Again and as always, they are not in order because I still haven't figured out how to do that!  Maybe because I neglect my blog for months on end :)

At one of the many Braves games thus far.  Will got chosen to play an in-between-inning game. He lost. And for a GREAT laugh, the vidoe is on my facebook page.

On our cruise. My handsome husband at dinner.
In Cayman... my new little piece of Heaven that I didn't want to leave.  Look at that water!
Still on the cruise.  This was before dinner.

Phew... updated!!!

low country boil and lately

Talk about culture shock.  The closest thing to a crawfish boil in New York is a fish fry on Fridays!!  This was only my second crawfish boil and I am still in shock that yall eat those gross things! Love crawfish or hate crawfish, the boils are such a blast!  Ours was an all day affair, filled with laughs, good food, sunshine, and lots of FUN! . . .

Ahh i love you to death. I am so glad you are in my life!
the love of my life and my best friend.
brothers because of ME. they are trouble when they're together.
You are the best big brother. So glad we are in the same state again!
the girls who help make georgia feel like home. Ash and Kelbs.

Life lately has been busy (as always).  Easter was spent here in Georgia-- Will's family came to visit and I took on the stressful task of cooking Easter dinner.  After many, many prayers, dinner (somehow) turned out great!  We spent the rest of the weekend in the mountains in the wineries... another little perk about this great state!  it was wonderful to see the Hunters and as always, we hated to say goodbye to them.

Will and I have loved getting to spend the last few weekends with our friends.  If there is one thing moving to Georgia has taught me, it's that friends really can make a completely new place feel like home.  We have been so blessed to have met some extraordinary people in Georgia, and they have definitely made us feel so welcome and so loved.  Will and I always talk about how thankful we are so have such a solid group supporting us.  We love yall!

On a fun note... Jackie is engaged!!! :)  For those of you that have been living in a cave, Jacks is my bestest of best friends.  We have known eachother for 10 years! and she is the definition of true and loyal.  I love her to pieces and I could not be more thrilled for her and James.  Excited for my best friend to be JACKIE CHAN! xoxox

FIVE DAYS until the long-awaited vacation!  Will and I have not been on a vacation along since our honeymoon, so we are super psyched about getting away together... alone.  We will spend 2 days in Tampa and then 5 days cruising to Cozumel and Grand Caymen.  YES PLEASE.

Those are all of the updates!  Kidding, of course I didn't forget!  BEAR IS DOING GREAT!  She is as beautiful as ever.  We are excited about her first birthday next week :):)

Love yall!

I am so excited that Jackie and Justin, two of my most favorite people in the world, were able to come see me last weekend. Spending the weekend with them made me so thankful for their friendship. Life has taken me from New York to Texas to Georgia . And along the way I have met a lot of people and have had a lot of fun, but the few true true friends that I have made are the most important things I’ve taken from each place. Jackie and I met in high school and have been best friends for ten years… TEN YEARS! She is my soul mate of a best friend. That friend you call when life just seems to be so difficult. She is truly the definition of loyal, honest, and true. I met Justin my freshman year at Baylor. We have had more crazy nights than most, and have had so many fun memories together. I loved spending the weekend with them. It made me want to lock them in a closet and not let them get on the plane. I really feel like life is perfect when I am with them.

Here are some pictures of our weekend together:

The next few months for Will and I are crazy. Up until our vacation in May, every weekend is filled—trips to Athens , showers, get togethers. But that is the way that we like it! As I’ve mentioned before, we have been blessed to find amazing friends here in Georgia , and spending time with them makes Georgia feel more and more like home to us.
Oh, and miss thang… she is great too!...

My best friend. Working on our marriage every day to make it stronger.

From Church this morning:
You will catch me if I fall
and I will get lost in Your eyes
and everything will be alright.

Ahhhh I am so bad at this! Life moves too quickly and before I know it, it’s been a month and I haven’t even touched the blog!

The past month has been hectic, as usual, with us. The weeks have been filled with family, friends, Bear, and each other. We did go on our trip to New Mexico which was so much fun. I hadn't been skiing in YEARS, so it was nice to get back out there and attempt to stay on my feet. More than anything, it was great to spend time with our friends. Trust me, there were planty of laughs and "oh-my-gosh" moments ... memories!

Every day spent here makes it feel a little more like home. We have been beyond blessed to have met such wonderful friends. Good friends can be so comforting and I am convinced that they are one of the greatest things in life. Speaking of good friends, Justin is coming to visit in a few weeks. I am so so so excited to see him. It means the world to me that he is coming out to Georgia to see us.

And Bear… she is getting so big and so beautiful. Will and I always say “she is just so cool”. Is she spoiled? Definitely. But do we care? Nope. She is the best! There is nothing like going home after a long day at work and having this little furball SO excited to see you. Love it.

In between the crazy workdays and crazy weekends, Will and I have decided that we need a hobby… that we both enjoy. On a normal day, mine is shopping (if that’s a hobby) and Will’s is hunting and fishing, so finding something that we can do together and both enjoy was important to us. What did we decide? TENNIS. Before yesterday (and besides the wii), I had never stepped foot on a tennis court. But we had so much fun, and I discovered muscles that I didn’t even know existed. If nothing else, it was something fun that we got to do together. Also, Will and I finally were able to book our summer vacation, and I am already counting down the days until we get to leave for it in May. This year, we’ve decided to go on a cruise! FUNNNNNNN! Something to look forward to! In between that and right now, just trying to get through the crazy weeks and living for those weekends!

Here are some pictures of life lately:
